New Beginnings

As we usher in the New Year, I find myself reflecting on the past gardening season, a journey marked by both challenges and triumphs. Last year was tough - I battled against persistent pests, relentless diseases, and experiments that didn’t quite pan out. To add to the challenges, a physical setback kept me out of my beloved garden during the crucial last six weeks of the season. These setbacks left me feeling a mix of disappointment and frustration.

However, in the quiet moments of reflection, I realized the importance of celebrating the wins amidst the struggles. When I look back at the bountiful harvests and the rows of preserved goodies from my garden, it reminds me of a vital lesson: No garden season will ever be perfect. We must learn to appreciate both the lessons and the moments of joy that gardening brings.

This realization is what I carry with me into 2024. Gardening, teaches us the beauty of starting over, of embracing new beginnings. As a step into this new year, my heart is filled with excitement and anticipation. I am eagerly looking forward to growing through seed catalogues and websites, selecting new varieties to experiment with. There’s a certain magic in planning the garden, in imagining the potential of each seed that will soon sprout to life.

What excites me the most above all, is the opportunity to share my passion for gardening with all of you. Over the next few weeks, I plan to share my garden plans for the season, insights on seed starting, the use of grow lights, and much more.
